Looking for a Boston area Children's Pirate Birthday Party?
You've come to the right place! Pirate Party!
Boston's
Captain Cane and his
Pirate Treasure Hunt and Pirate Party!

Welcome to PirateParty.net. Boston's original pirate
entertainment for childen since 2001--
Pirate Captain Cane and his famous,
Boston based Pirate Treasure Hunt! (The description of the
Pirate Party! follows this section, about half way down,
below)
Captain Cane's Pirate Treasure Hunt is fast-paced and fun,
with lots of "Aye Aye!" and
"Arrrgh!!!". Boston's Family
Favorite Award winning children's entertainer Captain Cane
arrives on the scene in full pirate regalia. The children are
thrilled. A real pirate! Captain Cane musters his crew,
and they all receive magnetic compasses (and learn how to use
them) and swear to the Ship's Articles. Each child receives an
official Letter of Marque (with a real pirate map on the back, as
well as a skull ring to prove that they are real pirates! Then they
learn the 'Secret Sign' of pirates, pirate words and songs, and
more! They learn a real pirate jig from Captain Cane, who did
them on the deck of a real square rigger! Captain Cane is a
real U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain and Master, and cruise ship
Maritime Historian, and loves to answer questions about pirates for
children.
In addition,
the First Mate (birthday child), receives an official
Officer's Commission, and Pirate Birth Certificate, with
gold seal, in a special ceremony. Hip Hip
Hooray for the First Mate!
NOTE: Pirate
Captain Cane (Award winning children's entertainer Jed Mills) sends
the birthday child a personalized letter, and calls the birthday
child and Mom or Dad for a fun chat, a few days prior to the party.
Captain Cane confirms all details directly with parents or
teachers, generally not through a booking agency. The
pirate party treasure hunt itself is about
two hours of fast paced pirate fun, and treasure chest,
treasure, pirate hats, clues, and lots of other stuff are all
included. The kids keep everything! And all major credit cards are
welcome.
With Captain
Cane's Pirate Treasure Hunt! You deal directly with
entertainer Jed 'Captain Cane' Mills. You will not be
dealing with a similar sounding recent imitator of
PirateParty.net that might send out whatever
sub-contractor is available the day of the party, and who
may perform many different characters for the
agency.

Next, it's off to the treasure
hunt! The First Mate and Captain Cane lead the search, which begins
where pirates concealed treasure long ago--right where this
party is.
AARGH!
First Mate/ Birth Certificate
ARRRGH!
The treasure hunt can be
indoors or outdoors. (The treasure chest, treasure, and clues are
shipped to Mom and Dad well before the day of the Pirate Treasure
Hunt!). Various clues lead the pirate ship's company to their
treasure. The clues include pirate prose and references to physical
landmarks common to any home or yard, as well as compass headings. A
hearty "Arrrgh" is shouted when any clue is found, and given to the First Mate (Birthday Child)
who leads the Pirate
Treasure Hunt with Captain Cane. The treasure is divided equally
among the pirate crew. Each shipmate receives three gold coins, two
jewel rings, jewel beads, a gold keychain with a jewel-eyed skull, a
jewel necklace, a mini pirate map and a mini pirate flag! All in a
heavy duty re-sealable bag. So there is no need for Mom and Dad to
spend another hundred dollars on goodies.
Now it's time for shipmates to receive
pirate tattoos and also face-painting. Next it's time for
balloons--mostly pirate sword balloons. Captain Cane makes all of
the pirate sword balloons before arriving at the party so that there
is no wasted time while an entertainer uses up fifteen minutes
blowing up sword balloons. All the time is used for the pirate sword
balloon swashbuckling adventure. Each crew member then
receives a pirate hat.
With pirate hats, tattoos, pirate
face-painted mustaches and hearts, rings, and sword balloons, the
assembled crew, led by their fearless First Mate, embarks on their
Parade of Pirates, while singing their pirate song. We finish
where Mom and Dad would like us to pose for a photo
session.
Each child also receives a small,
autographed photo postcard of Captain Cane, personally
inscribed to the child. This
Performance, including all materials, for up to 12 children is
$295. Major credit cards are welcome. The cost of time and materials
for additional children is only $15 each. Allow a few extra
minutes for each additional child for tattoo application, balloon
sword, face-painting, and autographing photo. The performance
usually is about two hours or longer for 12 children, depending
on how many clues are used, and how complex the treasure hunt is.
Special rates are available for
day-care facilities, schools, camps, and other large
groups.
Captain Cane is Boston-based but is
available to perform anywhere...he has entertained children and
adults from coast to coast, and in Mexico and on cruise ships in the
Caribbean. Call for information: 781-990-3489, or Contact us

The adventure of Captain Cane's Pirate Treasure Hunt!
enables children to be swept into the exciting world of pirates, but
the world of good pirates. Good pirates who seek the adventure of
discovery, who do no harm, and who are not very frightening. Along
the way, children fearlessly 'become pirates' and learn that pirates
have rules, that pirates work together for their common good, and
that pirates always share what they have. A basic message is that
smart pirates are good. This is a highly active, and interactive
program that educates, teaches some important lessons of life, and
is boatloads of fun...
About Captain Cane...
Captain Cane (my other name is Jed Mills) comes
dressed in black, with long black hair. Captain Cane is
friendly, does not appear frightening, and carries no
weapons. Captain Cane is happy to talk about ships,
sailing, and piracy to interested children and can bring a globe,
model of a square rigger, and information about actual pirates to
any performance. Captain Cane received Boston Parent's
Family Favorite Award in 2006 for his pirate themed
children's entertainment.
And a little about
me... I live in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and
parents, sister, brother-in-law, and neices are nearby. I also have
two wonderful daughters. My younger daughter is determined to be a
sailor! I am a Juris Doctor and have studied piracy, and
I'm a member of the Admiralty Law Society of the Thomas Jefferson
School of Law. I was a voyage crew member of the H.M.Bark
Endeavour (full size replica of Captain Cook's ship, built
from the same British Admiralty plans) and sailed the Pacific Coast
in it. I'm a U.S.Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer, as a
licensed captain. I also have a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant
Mariner Master's license, with sailing endorsement, and am
a member of the Marblehead Yacht Club and
the London Corinthian Sailing Club. I'm also a U.S.
Power Squadrons Certified Boating Instructor, and approved by the
National Association of Boating Law Administrators as a boating
instructor. I am also certified as a substitute teacher in
California, and have been awarded the 'Best of the Best' Award as
entertainer for family events, by Boston Parent.
When time and weather permit, I
sail my small sloop Maverick out of Marblehead Harbor,
Massachusetts, with family and friends. Arrgh!
